II. Configuring and Installing Office 365

To ensure that Office 365 is used to its maximum potential, you will be required to configure and install additional programs. These programs are essential when using Office 365. Please follow the steps below in order to configure and install Office 365 correctly.

1. Installing Office 365

a. On your Office 365 Portal homepage, go to ‘Start here’ and click on [Set up now]

b. When the ‘Downloads’ window appears, click on [Set up]. This step is required to prepare you to send email from Outlook 2007 or 2010, save files directly to SharePoint online from your Office desktop apps.

c. When the ‘Microsoft Office 365 desktop setup’ window appears, sign in with your ID and password.  A new window will appear for ‘Configure desktop applications and install updates’. Keep on pressing continue until they are finished with the installation.

2. Running Office 365

a. Windows [Start] -> [All Programs] -> [Microsoft Office 365] -> [Microsoft Office 365 Portal]

3. Installing Microsoft Lync 2010

a. On your Office 365 Portal homepage, go to ‘Start here’ -> [Set up now]. Go to Install Microsoft Lync 2010 and select [Install].

b. Microsoft Lync window will appear. Fill in your log-in information and passwords and Log in.
