IV. Explore Office 365 Admin Options
If you are the Admin of the Office 365 Portal, you will have an ‘Admin’ at the top of the homepage. As an Admin of the homepage, you can configure different settings so that your team members can navigate through the homepage with ease.
1. Admin Overview
a. On Office 365 Portal homepage, click on Admin.
b. When the Admin page shows up, go to ‘Get your team started’ and click on [Watch admin tour]
2. Adding Users
a. When you are on the Office 365 Portal homepage, go to Admin -> Get your team started -> [Add users]. Fill out the necessary information and press [Next]
3. Add and verify your domain
a. To add and verify your domain, go to your Office 365 Portal homepage -> Get your Team Started -> Click on [Add and verify your domain]
c. When you have found an available domain, press [Next]. Review your information and then [Verify]
4. Reset the user password
a. Go to the Admin page-> Under Admin Shortcuts, click on [Reset user passwords].
5. Assign User Licenses
a. Go to Admin Page -> Under Admin Shortcuts, click on [Assign user licenses]. When the ‘User’ window appears, select the person you would like to assign user license to and click on [Edit].
6. Setting up Exchange Server
a. Go to the Admin Page -> Outlook -> Click on [General Settings].
7. Setting up Lync
a. Go to Admin page-> Lync -> Click on [General Settings]
8. Managing your Team sites and documents
You can manage your team sites and document libraries with SharePoint Online.
a. Go to your Admin page -> Team sites and documents –> Click on [Manage team sites]
9. Managing documents on your team site
a. Click on ‘Team Site’ on the top of the Office 365 Portal homepage.
10. Changing Team Site User settings
a. Go to ‘Admin’ Page -> Team sites and Documents -> Click on ‘Change Permissions’
b. Click on ‘Edit User Permissions’ and when the new window appears, change the Team User settings.
